  • I just got called by a headhunter...

who claimed that the range of the job he was recruiting for was "300 to a buck"

That is the first time I have ever heard 'a buck' used that way...

I've only heard of using "unit" to denote 100,000.

by "300 to a buck" KH means the range from $300,000 to $1,000,000.

Who refers to $1M as a 'buck'? Buck has to be 100 something.

Is your head worth that much? Will you have visitation rights?

and could he have meant 300 zloty to US$1

Buck refers to male (doe to female, though if they say that on the phone it can be confusing since it sounds like "dough"), and he's just referencing how women will not make as much in said position :sexist:

Thats quite a large range-- not often you see a range from x to 3x--- I'm more accustomed to seeing a narrower range cited with then a wide variance on potential bonuses

I had never seen the "buck" term used in that fashion

                              1. We have no information from what KH told us to suggest that that range is or is not including bonuses.
                              2. It's quite a range, but still completely feasible.
                              3. Headhunters are sales people. With all that implies.
