It's BEYOND education policy. Being a creationist says a lot about where someone's head is at and where facts and reason reside in it.

Okay. I've often said on these boards that the thing that bothers me the most about the GOP is their embrace of outright anti-intellectualism. Obvious, this is not every member of the party, but anyone who expects to get anywhere in Republican politics spouts the most idiotic anti-scientific and anti-intellectual bull****. Even Ron Paul, a MEDICAL DOCTOR, says he doesn't believe in evolution. That is, frankly, nutty beyond belief.

No matter how much I may agree or disagree with a potential GOP candidate on economic or other issues, if they continue to pander to the lowest common denominator of their base with anti-educational horse****, I can not support them. It is poisonous to our nation.

In the meantime, Democrats believe they can increase demand, cut costs and improve availability all at the same time, while there's a strain of republicans that subscribe to inconsequential silly religious beliefs that don't really impact their public policy. Choice seems pretty clear to me--I'd vote for the latter religion over the former's religion.

A president needs to be someone who knows how to delegate to people who are better qualified. Not someone who dismisses scientific consensus on a whim.

Romney's problem in the GOP primary is that unless and until he comes up with a convincing way to distance himself from Romneycare it weakens any potential GOP attack on Obama's healthcare law given how many ideas were borrowed Romney's work in Massachusetts.

I never assumed otherwise. However, the GOP does tend to be more forcefully anti-science. (As a specific subset of wingnuttery and douchebaggery in general.)

I also have a hard time believing both of those figures; as low an opinion as I have about Americans in general, and Americans who subscribe to one party or another in particular, those numbers seem awful high.
