are you high? i get that they might 'combine' books four and five, but that's... at least three seasons worth of material, minimum.
book 4/5 aren't as action packed as book 3 was.
It's assumed by most that it'll be 1 season.

    • More importantly, they both sucked. Still, there's enough stuff to mandate more than one season.

There are still a ton that happens in them. Far, far more than half a season each. It's going to be 2 seasons. 1.5 at least.

There are five books out right now so it would start happening as soon as they run out of five books worth of material. I believe they got half way through book three in season 3 so if they really slow stuff down they could do half a book per season (which would be screwed up as the kids would get too old for their roles) but if they did that they could potentially go five more seasons. The first two seasons were a book each and that seemed the right pace though the TV show may have trouble dealing with the Mureen Knot where GRRM had two different books covering two different story lines but both happening at the same time. I image the TV show can't do that so they'd have to integrate book four and five showing half of each for two seasons. Other wise viewers might get confused about the order of events.

Plus the books get bigger and bigger as they go on. The first two books were relatively dainty compared to books four and five so you'd kind of figure it would take more air time to cover a 1200 page book than a 600 page book but I guess it depends on how much they cut out.

Technically, A Feast for Crows is shorter than A Clash of Kings (but longer than A Game of Thrones), but A Dance With Dragons is the longest of the all (of course the last 1/5th of Dance ends the storyline of A Feast for Crows as well).

Your opinion is bad and you should feel bad.

                    I love book 4.

                    • The end of Dance was good as well. But the first 2/3rd (at least) of it was a bore.

The end of Dance starts to approach the heights of the first three.

That didn't suck but they did have a lot of setting things up and introducing the key people for the next war.

Yeah, it has the biggest cliff hanger of the whole series so far with some really involved stuff going on but some how GRRM keeps it all interesting. The last part of that book is a gold mine of information which people can use to prove or disprove just about any theory they have.

                          • I just couldn't handle all the characters. I didn't care about all but maybe five of them, and there are so ****ing many. I found myself skimming chapters. I had to stop myself because I knew some things would be important later, but after a while I realized I just didn't care. I don't care how big boobed this arab ***** is, or how throbby Mr. Knight's penis gets when she takes her top off. She's not Arya or Bran or Jon, so she needs to get the **** out and stop wasting my time with her crap. Same goes for literally dozens of other boring assholes.

Apart from the characters though, the biggest problem is that I constantly feel worried that he's roping me into a LOST-esque plot Ponzi scheme. He keeps opening new MYSTERIES OF THE UNIVERSE and resolving none of them. He started to explain what was going on at the end of book 4? 5? I forget, whenever
                            Spoiler:

Sam is at the tower of magic people or whatever, maesters I think

but then the book ****ing ends. Thanks a lot, dickhole.

                            • I'm assuming you are just trying to get Guy even more angry as opposed to actually thinking Arianne Martell is uninteresting.

And if you don't care for tons of characters and tons of locations, then stop reading. This book series is obviously not for you.

                              • Peak GRRM was achieved when Dany takes a ****ing diarrheal **** in the desert. THE MORE SHE SHAT! Seriously, probably the most painful piece of "literature" I have read since the Harry Potter 7 epilogue. Did I pay for this? What the **** is going on? If I want to hear about terminal diarrhea I'll play ****ing Oregon Trail. This is important how exactly? Why would I want to know? Another author, with a better sense of when to apply conciseness, would have just said she got sick.
