Braindead, why do you think he's responding to you? What have you been doing with animal semen?

      Donald Trump - 19%
      Mike Huckabee - 19%
      Sarah Palin - 12%
      Mitt Romney - 11%
      Newt Gingrich - 11%
      Ron Paul - 7%
      Michele Bachmann - 5%
Pawlenty, Barbour, others - Even Lower %

I can see why it's so splintered. All these candidates are blemished, most of them severely. If the Republicans were smart, they would unite behind a "moderate" (i.e. a conservative in the historical sense). But the Tea Party won't let them.

Huck and Palin likely aren't running. I don't think Huck's book did that well and Fox is probably paying both of them too much to take the pay cut. Newt wouldn't even get past the evangelicals. Romney might have a chance if he can bring himself to attack or otherwise strongly distance himself from Romneycare which is a huge negative for him with primary voters. I wouldn't mind Barbour given his track record here. My dream candidate though isn't going to run: Chris Christie.

It's way too early to bother speculating on which Republican will run. Just about anything can happen between now and New Hampshire.
            John Brown did nothing wrong.

No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

I didn't go to Cherry Hill; it doesn't have a White Castle.

Just because Trump is pandering to birthers doesn't mean he's a birther.
Think of all the morons that Obama pandered to during his campaign that actually thought he was going to do all the things he promised.

It just means that Trump understands the basics of politics.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

I'm more partial to Jindal. He could more easily show via contrast the impotence and lack of Obama leadership in the gulf response alone.

I admit to being biased here due to residency but Barbour is my choice among the Gulf governors due to how he responded to Katrina.

Barbour is unelectable as I fear are most on the list.

Probably. Which is a shame IMO as he has a good record as governor.

None of us may like Trump. OTOH, we currently have a president that I wouldnt trust to clean the household silver without supervision. So from that perspective, Trump would be an improvement. At least there would some humour in the spectacle.

Scarier is the possibility of POTUS Sheriff Joe. God forbid.
