120m?!? what is that 10-12hr dive?

What's the point of scuba when snorkeling is so much easier, cheaper, and safer?

Different preferences I guess - some like the safety of diving to the bottom of the toddlers basin, others prefer the bottom of the tower diving basin.

What about hookas? Doesn't anyone think of the hookas? (Not that kind of hooka Felch!)

What other kind of hooka is there?

Signed up for classwork and pool session. Need to decide if I want to go to 4 crappy lake dives around here to complete certification or wait until I'm opportunistically in some awesome place to do my open water dives.

Might as well wait. Not like a scuba certification will do you much good in Manhattan.

That all depends on whether he intends to fly US Airways anytime soon.

After your first time, it's never the same.

Also, scuba'ers are easy prey for sharks.

Bottom time was 20 mins. Total dive time was something around 3-4 hrs. Rebreathers are cool...

Actually no. Most accidents happen when people are on the surface. Under water sharks are curious but not interested in eating you.

oh, that does not sound like that much.

I thought that once you go past 60-80 meters that the buildup of nitrogen is too high, no matter what kind of mix you breathe, and that it takes forever to get back up, but I guess tech and technique are a lot better than I thought

do some of your colleagues go deeper than 120m, and what about light, was there still some light down there, or did you use lamps?
