I dunno. As I see it they are just saying KH namecalling is meaningless, not really arguing if manned spaceflight is a major scientific breakthrough or not

But then KH couldn't sound like a condescending jackass.

I am assuming those you're talking about are the twit and the lazy virgin; I can't tell, as both are currently on my ignore list for following me around and spamming my threads.

Did you think I was being condescending in the face of your idiocy?

Ah yes, but I already explicitly agreed with that.

Personally I'd never waste condescension on idiocy. It takes no skill and is a task better left to weak minded and inefficient people. My time is far too valuable for that.

Manned spaceflight is an amazing(ly expensive) engineering feat which relied on a vast accumulation of scientific improvements over many years, mainly in materials science, the physics bit is easy and just needed improvements in computational power. What do people think was the scientific breakthrough?
Thank you, MikeH. How long did it take to make that post? My point exactly. Instead of calling germanos an idiot, KH could have just typed that out and hey, he would have educated germanos and not looked like a ****ing *******.
And to be clear, neither myself nor Braindead said anything in disagreement with KH. I pretty much said what you said not as well (it was just an achievement to see if we could do it with existing knowledge and it didn't open up things like something like nuclear fission did). This is why Apolyton ticks me off. I know you weren't being intentionally daft so what's the deal? Fistandantilus who I don't think even is a native English speaker understood it clearly. Is reading comprehension this weak on this board or am I somehow not expressing things clearly? It was clear to Fistandtilus.

"I have nothing against Wilson, but he's nowhere near the same calibre of QB as Flutie. Flutie threw for 5k+ yards in the CFL." -Ben Kenobi
What beauty. I saw clouds and their light shadows on the distant dear earth.... The water looked like darkish, slightly gleaming spots.... When I watched the horizon, I saw the abrupt, contrasting transition from the earth's light-colored surface to the absolutely black sky. I enjoyed the rich color spectrum of the earth. It is surrounded by a light blue aureole that gradually darkens, becoming turquiose, dark blue, violet, and finally coal black.
Today, you are the waves of the Pacific, pushing ever eastward. You are the sequoias rising from the Sierra Nevada, defiant and enduring.
