A few years back scientists discovered the world's tallest tree in a remote corner of one of California's state parks in Humboldt County. The tree is in a very remote location even though it is only 4 miles from a road because it is up a narrow draw (mini valley) through steep terrain with no trail through the thick foliage of the temperate rain forest.
