I've been to Five Guys twice and it sucked both times. They only cook their burgers well done and the stupid **** cooking the burgers flipped it about 20 times and pressed down on it each time so that all the juices were squeezed out of it and the patty came out dry as a hockey puck. That happened both times I visited. Plus the fries were mushy instead of crisp as proper french fries are supposed to be while the buns tasted like they were bought at a super market but the worst part is they charged like $13 for their subpar burger. Sorry but no amount of free peanuts makes up for the fact that their burgers suck and are over priced.
Compare that to In-N-Out, which is also a fast food burger place which also does the fresh never frozen thing but which actually tastes much better (juicy meat, fresh baked bun, real California cheese), is made to order, and only costs about $5-$6 for a full combo (which is less then half what Five guys charges for their substandard combos).
For a chain restaurant Fudruckers also makes a pretty good burger using never frozen meat and house baked buns plus they'll cook it to order how ever you like it not to mention they offer several different types of meat besides beef.
