So wait, do you think that all republicans are homophobic Asher?

No, I think the majority are. Which makes "part" misleading.

I don't even think that is true, Asher, and if it is, that majority is declining by the day.

Homophobes have enough influence in the GOP that the entity can be considered a homophobic one. I wouldn't be surprised if MrFun thinks his dignity as a human being matters more than whether taxes are a couple percentage points higher or lower.

Way to completely miss the point, gribbler.

So you think if Republicans had a vote on if gays and straights should have equal rights, a majority would think equal rights should exist?

Your definition of equal rights might vary. I know that sounds strange, but for instance, they might not see gay marriage as a "right" but would say yes, they have equal rights to not be discriminated against in the military or in the workplace or at school. Even Bush said in a debate with Kerry that all Americans have the right to be treated with dignity regardless of sexual orientation.

What point? Any Republican representative with a brain is going to vote against equal rights for gays, because homophobes are a major part of their base.

Did you not see my post about how MrFun shouldn't automatically criticize policies because they are conservative?

By the way, I don't think Governor McDonnell does what you describe. He's a very pragmatic politician. He refused to endorse several pieces of anti-gay legislation that all, thankfully, ultimately failed during this legislative session. He even specifically said he would veto (iirc) a particularly stupid one that would dictate that the VA national guard would not follow the DADT repeal.

Anyone who thinks homosexuals should not be allowed to marry is a homophobe. Period.

Just like anyone who thinks blacks shouldn't be allowed to marry, but can have civil unions, is a racist.

Majority of Republicans are homophobes. Period.

Does "the right to be treated with dignity " mean equal treatment by the law?

I can politely deny true equality.

Yes, another thing you are wrong about.

Another word for "separate but equal" is "segregation". Congratulations, Wizard.

So, MrFun just posting in a thread, immediately gays it up?

He didn't even post anything about homosexuality.

                                ACK!
