    Legality Question: Importation of foreign adult goods into the USA for consumer Consumption?

    Hi,

    I have a "friend of a friend," that wants to know if it is legal to buy hentai from a person in Japan, not an offical store. Hentai for those that do not know, is adult sexual anime, and japanese ones are censored somewhat anyways. The hentai in question is all 18+ actors so none of that gray area there that sometimes is. However, barely aware of interstate porn laws let alone international with customs here in the USA, so do you need a license, will it get seized as contraband, if it is illegal what is the penalty if you get caught if so...etc?

    Its a 4piece collection and costs about 160 USD $$$.

    And i'm note interested about UK/Canadian/Australian laws, just USA, but welcome to talk about others if you want...

          You won't have a problem. America has surprisingly liberal pornography laws, at least when it comes to distribution.
