I disagree. If it could be proven that God exists then that would eliminate faith since only knowledge would be required to believe. One point of existence seems to be faith and if that is the case proof would also be fallacy. Since God is perfect there can be no proof imo.

There are a lot of women I have factual knowledge about that they do exist. Still I do not have faith in them.
I have faith in my wife, despite the fact that I factually know that she exists.

Christians have faith in God, as in: we trust that God will be the best for us and worthy to dedicate our lives to.
Faith doesn't describe our believe that he exists.

An example Jesus used was doubting Thomas. Thomas did not believe Jesus could exist after being crucified. So in proving it Jesus had Thomas put his finger in the holes the nails made. Faith in this case seems to be about existence.

Regarding the second bit, you might not know personally enough about barbarity to understand respect, I just don't know. To question respect and its importance to civilization shows a lack of understanding.

I dunno about that, necessarily. Jon Miller and I have very similar views on God. Besides, not everyone considers that to be a downside or bad thing (that God's mystery simply cannot be fully understood by people)

What exactly are you resting your case about? That you've moved the goalposts when you said (paraphrasing) that no two of you have the same beliefs?

I, obviously, have my disagreements about the true and exact nature of God between Kid, BK, and Plomp. I just don't see that as some unbridgable chasm.

Quite often when I talk to non-believers, they ridicule my position for not being provable, ie provable scientifically. Same here in previous discussions. My second answer has been posted before in essence, and it is not accepted, as it is not proof as scientist use it. So I've become accustomed to proof being something objective or not valid in their eyes.
