OTOH when I win the lottery I might buy a summer house there.
I couldn't even fathom VISITING Alabama...let alone living there. Christ.

I think the invitation is "in the mail".

The surprising thing is that there is quite a thriving gay community here. Not that I have personal knowledge, it's just something that I learned because of my research focus i.e. STD's.

I came 15 years ago to do some research for a couple of years (with the intent to go back to dreary Sweden) but we found we liked/loved it here. The religious fanatics can be an occasional pain in the ass but I see it as the price I pay to live amongst people who understand courtesy (I joke that it's because they're all armed).

It's not just the homophobia in Alabama. It's the accents, it's the NASCAR culture, it's the redneck food, it's the overt Christianity...yuck

Given the exclusions from the list of Asher's dislikes, we can conclude that he likes professional wrestling.

... not that there's anything wrong with that.

My city isn't on this list, and that's fine by me.

Professional wrestling or homoerotic soap operas a la WWE/NWA?

It should be obvious given the context

Also, 89% white is just mind-boggling to me. 9 out of 10 people you see on the street are white? What the hell?
Yes much like Indians of the 19th century a group of 5 or more Whites is considered a raiding party and can be killed on the spot.

Am I the only one seeing Alby's racism here? Can you imagine him saying the same thing about Blacks or Chinese? Well come to think of it I it wouldn't be that far off with his rants about how Blacks are stealing all the White women instead of them going to Arabs and calling Asians terrible people. Alby you have some issues.

No, you are not the only one who notices that albie is a racist. Unlike you, none of us really care because we don't find it particularly threatening.

I don't find it as much threatening as I find it hilarious. Blatant racism while accusing everyone else of it is something unusual to my unWesternized eyes.

I think once Hitler enters the thread it becomes much harder to notice the racism of others because of the blinding level of HITLER in the thread.
