As the summer constellations swing into view in the northern hemisphere, they carry along with them a variety of celestial wonders, and perhaps the most impressive sight of all is the star-rich center of our own galaxy, the Milky Way. From our backyard vantage here on Earth, the Milky Way is visible on any given night, a powdery haze stretching among the constellations.

You can't see the center of the Milky way because we are in one arm of an elongated disk so we'd have to be able to see through a massive cloud of dust and stars which we just can't do.
