"Many Think" vs "Some Say"

If you have nothing substantial to back up your position, say in a media article or somesuch, should you rather use the phrase "Many think X is great/whatever" (where X is whatever you like to advocat) or "Some say X..." to get your point through?!? I encountered both a lot and so I'm wondering....

Many think you should say "some say" but some say you should really have something to back up your position.

If you're making stuff up, you can either go for the bluff and claim that as 'many' people as possible think that, or play safe and go for 'some'.

Either way, I think I'll take your arguments with a grain of salt from now on...

Well, obviously I'm not used to making stuff up and always back my arguments to the hilt. So in this case I'm just making stuff up that I think sounds good to make BeBro feel better...

Fox Noise loves this. They pull some garbage out of their backside without any supporting evidence and just say "Some think..." or "Many say...". Example: "Some think Obama is a communist secret Muslim sleeper terrorist illegal alien."
