I spent a morning in Mexico City, we visited the main plaza and the exposed ruins of Tenochtitlan, and then had to fly to Cuba.

My family went to Yucatán the previous year to that, but I had to study so I couldn't go.

How do the guys on top gear even know about Mexicans? Like, the interaction that Brits have with Mexico is almost non-existent.

You'd hope they haven't been there and are just being ignorant.

Usually it is clear when these guys are just having a light-hearted joke...this one was too harsh and missed the mark. Mexican food is great and Mexicans aren't known for being lazy, quite the opposite.

It did take a while for the ambassador to complain however...the show was Sunday, the complaint by the ambassador...Tuesday at the earliest!

Couldn't they have joked about the Welsh in this case?

Or at least made a joke about how people in texas will be trying to tow them back to the border.

On the whole, yeah, there is very little interaction between us and the Mexicans and we generally don't know much about the place. I am an exception to this rule.

Well, that isn't adding fuel to the fire.

What all this does do, is advertise that a new series of Top Gear is on and that Mexico have a sports car costing about £30,000.

What do you know about Guadalajara, PH? The wife and I are taking another look at teaching English in another country now that I have some experience in a classroom, and there's a well-rated TEFL cert program in that city.

Wait. British people complaining about the quality of Mexican food?

Or rather, British people complaining about the quality of any other country's food?

When your standard culinary direction for cooking meat is to boil it, and eating coagulated and fried blood is common, you don't get the right to complain about anybody else's food.
