  • I have joined the ranks of unemployed.

I have joined the ranks of unemployed.
Houston is closing down hospitals and the area is flooded with out of work nurses.
I had a mental meltdown earlier this week and did try to take my own life.
As you can see, I failed.
I am not looking for sympathy, just want to tell my story to make myself feel better. ( helps me to see the way of my mistake )
I'm not much in a talkin mood right now but I will discuss if anyone wants to talk later.
You guys who are depressed, I feel your pain and I do understand.
    Your not alone.
We will endure and we will be successful.

    Thank You

    Later
    William

Nurses are still in high demand in other areas of the country. You'll be fine.

My condolences. I am in the process of being made redundant myself, but there seem to be plenty of opportunities though so I don't think it will ever reach a point where I am out of work. In fact I may do quite well out of it. Plus the German branch of my company may want to hire me back as a freelance consultant for a project they have, which means a lot of money.

oh man doc don't even think about doing something like that. Things will be better. The job situation is just a temporary stumbling block.

He wasn't even thinking about doing anything

Well I hope you find more work, I don't know what the conditions are like in your sector. Mine seem to be quite buoyant, and I have friends in high places. What do you all reckon to emigrating to Switzerland?

Unemployment kicks ass. I've been on and off for about a year now.

There have been health worker shortages in Alberta from time to time. Organisations would be able to bring you in on a legit visa if they want to hire you.

I'm not sure of the specifics of the plan, and I think there is more than one because I have heard various stories. I've heard the workers have to complete the term and leave or the organisation reapply. I've heard others that are a bridge to permanent immigration. I'm not sure of the specifics at all.

Anyplace in the medical field is the safest, with the best chance of rebound, IMHO. Keep your chin up, Doc.

Well it is one of the serious options on the table. My last project was almost two years and I was very well regarded there and they may want to take me on as a permanent now they can do it without issue, and I have friends in high places.
