The problem is that the sane Republicans have been playing to the fringe lunatics for decades, in a cynical ploy to gain votes, as they would then turn their back on their promises to said lunatics. After years of this, the lunatics' ranks have swelled, and they now are close to getting a controlling share of the party.

I refuse to accept that a developed nation is full of fringe lunatics.

Yes, very similar to the DEMS playing to the minorities or the far left in a cynical ploy to gain votes, then turn their back on their promises. The center has to reach out to the fringe to get those extra votes needed to win.

But I will admit that the lunatics on the right are starting to worry me more than the lunatics on the left.

But rah, Obama is a COMMUNIST, which means that the lunatics to the left of him must be even crazier and more dangerous than COMMUNISTS. Is that even possible?

Van Jones? At least on the crazier front with him being a truther and all.

BTW rah, I'm so happy that with the appointment of Daley as Chief of Staff that the transformation of DC into Chicago East you people started is finally complete. Thanks for that.

Is anyone still waiting for Obama to bring his muslim friends over to take over?

I think that the ridiculous slander that was a negative for him in 2008 will have a greatly diminished effect in 2012. I think his chances look good, not that I'll be voting for him.

I'm not voting for him because he doesn't have any principles. He believes the same as the majority in the room believes.

I always laughed at those that fell for Obama's "Outsider" claims. Even funnier when he was pushing so hard to get Emanual back on the mayor's ballot with all his fairness verbiage when he won his senate seat after getting his biggest opponent thrown off the ballot. Obama was born from the machine and propagates it wherever he goes. Yes, Washington has been assimilated.

And again, for the Record, I did not vote for him so don't blame me.

The Democrats are the minority party. Despite all the pandering of Republicans towards the "natural conservatives" that is the Hispanic population and support for more immigration they had few if any results in the 2000-2008 era. I think the top neocon strategists where shocked when the harsher efforts to limit immigration forced through by popular demand on a local level cost them very very little in terms of their % of the Hispanic vote, especially in the light of gains among Whites.

Whites will soon be just another ethnic voting block, I fully expect to see 75%+ voting for more moderately socially conservative republicans in less than 16 years. Lower class whites will completely abandon democrats. Jews, the lower upper class and goverment employees will of course remain overwhelmingly democrat. Also a much larger % of military personel will be voting leftwing in years to come because they are more and more like every other government agency in their internal culture. Asians are the only block that could really go both ways, despite people's perceptions its not too long ago that Repubs had large shares of them. I suspect antiAsian discrimination and perhaps violence will push them firmly into the "White" party before 2030.

I'm talking about the changes in diplomatic attitudes. Surely you at least remember how he snubbed the British on a few occasions?

Also Obama will likley start at least one new war before the end of his next turn which will provide only casualties and more debt for America's European allies.
