Piss ant is an expression I haven't heard for must be 30 years. Where I came from it meant somebody who has a tendency to be constantly rushing about, busily doing pointless things, bit like a headless chook running around. Does piss ant have the same meaning in your part of the world?

I don't think that there is a lack of comprehension about feelings and emotions of others. On the contrary, there is possibly a huge amount of pleasure derived from taking those emotions and stamping on them.

My girlfriend, who works with retards on a daily basis at her school, can attest that this is not always true. More often than not, her retards long ago stopped putting forth any effort into learning the simple things when they realized that, if they whined enough, adults would do the work for them.
