I guess not. I was paid to get yelled at basically.

Are you implying that people under military training SHOULDN'T get paid?

Do most people doing job training get paid? How many companies don't pay employees during their first few weeks on the job when they're learning the ropes?

            Indeed...

Grad students only get paid because they teach or provide research assistance to a professor. And if they quit grad school because of the immense psychological trauma they certainly don't get paid after they leave...

Think of it as training during the first few weeks of employment, not as training in the school sense.

Do you even try to get a job?

I don't follow your story very closely, you got injured training to become a marine, and now you are waiting for your injuries to heal in order to give the marines another try, right?

                      None of them.

At least, if they are operating within the law.

Neither does an employee at any firm during their training period.

Forgive me but considering how your statements are always so loaded and prejudiced and considering your value system, I had figured that you were implying that 'producing nothing' means no compensation should be distributed.

I would be fine with the military not paying people for the time they spend being trained. However I'm not sure whether injuries should be compensated.

Why would they not get paid for time spent training? Marine Corps recruit training takes 13 weeks. MOS schools can last months. Are you seriously fine with inflicting that sort of hardship on servicemen and their families during their training?

Not sure whether injuries should be compensated? Take my example. I had fractures in my legs. I had to use crutches and couldn't stand for hours at a time, which would have made it impossible for me to work in my former job. The idea is that if the injuries limit employment, as mine did, the military pays til the person is healed. So I was getting paid for the 6-8 weeks or so it took for the bones to heal.
