  • Opinions on Steve Bartman (01/11/11)

Up for discussion today is the oft-heralded life of Steve Bartman (unknown birth, still at large). I know this may come as an unpleasant surprise to some of you, who were looking forward to Alpha Protocol's advertised Erwin Rommel article, but this is another year, and things must change. Unlike the Cub's losing ways in the playoffs, which Steve Bartmen helped to stabilize at a most critical juncture. All of our lives would have been much different had it not been for Steve Bartman's altruistic catch. He is a true American hero and one I have modeled my life after. What are your thoughts on Steve Bartman?

I suppose it was only a matter of time until someone drew the comparison between the two. Jeffrey Maier was nothing more than a copycat, trying to ride the coattails of one of the greatest men of his generation. There are a myriad of differences between the two, and in all cases Jeffrey Maier falls short, much like the Cubs did on that fateful October night.
