Just so we're clear, this statement is based purely on the fact that he happens to list The Communist Manifesto as one of his favorite "books" on his youtube profile. Now, it's certainly possible that we could infer that Marx is one of his favorites (or even that he's a Marxist!), but given how humans work and considering his mental state, it seems just as likely that he put it there to tick people off, to seem cool, because he was reading it at the time he wrote that profile, because it was an inside joke with his friends, because it was an inside joke with himself, because his dog told him to, because he liked how often the document uses cool words like "bourgeois," or because he thinks Karl Marx visits him in the dream world.

Without really knowing the guy, talking to him, or having a concrete statement of his beliefs beyond "I am conscience dreaming and only 5% American have grammar," I think it's very difficult to say something even as straightforward as Karl Marx is one of his favorite authors.

In the same way that a attack at a military base carried out by Muslim shouting "Allah Akbar!" might by some be suspected as a attack with a Jihad pretext if not cause?

This is of course true. However its about as meaningful as inferring from the fact that he attacked a Democrat that he might be right wing.

      • The same way that any time a brown person commits a crime, it's terrorism. A white guy crashes into the IRS building with his plane, and it's a crazy.

How does that make it appropriate to publish articles blaming people who are entirely unrelated especially when you don't have the tiniest shred of evidence beyond "Well she was a democrat?" That's ****ing absurd.
If there is no sound in space, how come you can hear the lasers?

There are other shreds of evidence, like a right winger posting a map with crosshairs and a list of politicians.

You're retarded. When an Arab who supports Al Qaeda screams "allah akhbar" and blows himself up, it's terrorism. When Tim McVeigh (WHITE GUY) bombed Oklahoma City in an explicit attempt to attack the federal government it was terrorism. When a guy crashes his plane into the IRS building for no particular reason, it's crazy. Can you really not tell the difference between these things?

The problem is the guy who crashed his plane into the IRS building did have a particular reason -- he hated the US government. So, too, do the "terrorists" you claim that are so different.

The only difference between the two are scale and skin color.

And my comment, in any case, was more of a reference to the fact that brown people are far more likely to be a terrorist in any crime, while white people are very rarely called terrorists.

I don't recall seeing the media calling Scott Roeder a terrorist, either.

                  • White people are rarely terrorists--over the last 10 years, how many acts of what you would consider "terrorism" in the US have not been by a Muslim, or an Arab Muslim for that matter? It's not racism, it's just a fact that terrorism is almost exclusively committed by Arab muslims! What the **** do you want, to arrest random white people so that we can have racial equality in crime statistics?

                    • When a white guy sends an exploding dildo to his ex-gf it's terrorism.

That's not evidence, you moron. Evidence is "the man reveres Sarah Palin and had a bajillion copies of the crosshair map". You make baseless assumptions about the cause of the murder without waiting for any facts to come out, such as "the guy ****ing reads Mein Kampf and Communist Manifesto" -- not huge indicators of Palin worship.

Isn't it amazing how it works when that's how you choose to define it?

Any instance of mass murder is terrorism. This guy, this is terrorism. Yet the media doesn't portray him as a terrorist, just as a crazy guy.

You're telling me if this was brown, Fox News wouldn't call him a terrorist?

How is it not evidence? The assassination attempt is more likely in a world where he reveres Sarah Palin than it would be in one where he doesn't.

He's not a terrorist because he didn't have any goals. Duh. Al Qaeda is waging asymmetric war against the US. This guy was a loner with a handgun. Al Qaeda makes attacks in order to scare people. This guy was a crazy man with some unhealthy obsessions.

                              • Why do you enjoy proving my points for me?

His goal, quite clearly, was to kill many people. Specifically the congresswoman.

Do you not realize this description applies just as well to any of the 9/11 hijackers?
