Religion: Real or Fake

I have seen people take the bible as THE WORD or literally.
I think that is dangerous and could lead to misunderstanding.
Maybe that is where all the confusion comes from?
The bible has a lot of contradictions, very loose interpertations and tall tales.
I don't know where I am going with this.
I still read my bible for answers and wisdom.
It all comes down to FAITH.

So basically, God loves humans and doesn't want them to suffer, but he constantly authorizes the devil to create hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, droughts, plagues, etc.? Does anyone have an explanation for this aside from 'free will'?

This just doesn't stick with Christianity. It's just a bald face assertion that just doesn't stick if anyone is familiar with the Bible at all. When one thinks of Christianity in this way one thinks of the way the church has worked in the past, but not has the Bible was written. The Bible as been twisted for personal and social reasons but you can't judge the Bible by other people's interpretation of it.

So the Church can make up stuff that makes the Bible seem like it was written by only human influence, but the individual should not have that opinion if he reads it for himself.

Maybe you're interpreting it in a way that the authors never intended? Or you've failed to make sense out of it, and that somehow convinces you that it's the product of some superbeing, rather than a bunch of incoherent rambling?
