    2081 movie based on a story by Kurt Vonnegut

    Anyone seen this movie? Its based on the Harrison Bergeroe story. The feel seems a bit off judging by the movie, however to be fair it is a hard story to translate into a motion picture. However I have some hope for the movie and will watch it.

    I also vaguely recall a movie with a similar theme but a more light-hearted interpretation from about a decade ago, does anyone remember the title?

    The story is only a few pages long if I remember correctly. In fact, that trailer is pretty much the entire thing. I don't know why you think it's off, although it's been years since I've read it, so I might be missing something.

      Well for starters the original story also pokes fun at people who oppose the Handicapper general.

          How do they make a movie out of this? I read it in high school and it's a short story at best... I guess it could be used as inspiration for a longer and bigger story but what's the point? It would be unnecessary fluff to a story that practically knocks you over the head with its very simple point.

          It's like a reverse Gattaca but without the real-life near-future implications that make Gattaca compelling
