Because it's so much better when every thread instantly turns into a vehicle for two posters' vendetta-of-the-month? Not that it's gotten that bad in this case, but I remember Asher/Agathon. Crap, that was boring.

And their ****ing crappy Riverdance music that sounds like it's from the 13th century
Who the hell wants to 'discover' Ireland? Even in their tourism commercials they can't hide that it's a freezing cold, forever-overcast, hell-hole made up of barren hills where apparently nothing but grass and potatoes grow with random rocks strewn about. Oh, you couldn't get to Belfast because you got distracted by some fisherman named Tom who takes you out to what looks like a freezing sea near barren cliffs where he probably murders you and dumps your body into that toxic waste-polluted Irish Sea.You thought you saw a mermaid? No, that was his last victim
**** Ireland!
And I don't find redheads attractive at all
Have you ever heard what an American accent sounds like to someone from the British Isles? Whiny and annoying...like, oddly enough, nails down a blackboard.
So f**kwit, before you stand in judgement about the rest of the world, get your head out of your own rectum and see what it is like for yourself rather than sit in your turdhole of a city and cast judgement on the rest of the world...you might be surprised by what you find.Speaking of Erith:

My only experience with Ireland is by way of the Irish-themed bar in a local town. We call it the Potato Palace (not actual name). Still, we like the Potato Palace, so I'll just say I approve of Ireland right now to balance the thread out n'stuff.

It's the bar that's stereotyping with its loads and loads of potato-based food offerings. The bar, I tell you!
Though, oddly enough, I think it might have a few more Scotch whiskies (whiskys? How do you pluralize the over-the-pond spelling?) than Irish...

From what I can tell Britain has whisky and the USA has whiskey. Whiskeys is definitely correct in the plural, at least in the USA.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

I think whiskey is the Irish spelling.
Fantastic rant by PH btw, although had the OP restricted his own rant to cod-Oirishness and plastic paddies and such I might have been forced to agree with it. As it was, it was a standard parochial spasm from Speer. Entertaining nonetheless. Do it again, Al, on March 17th and I'll give it a
