    • The South that Sloww grew up in:

I think it's easy for younger people to forget just how recent stuff like this was in America. Sloww isn't even that old () but he was a teenager back then.

      • You idiot. How old do you think I am? No, I don't even want to know how old an idiot thinks I am. Just forget it.

And DaShi, you're repeating yourself again, and it wasn't that witty the first time.

          • It's not meant to be witty. They are words of empathy for you Sloww. I think you need some support here. While I can't agree with the grossly incorrect statements you are making, I can be a ear to listen or even. . .a shoulder to cry on. PM if you need more personal support.

I don't think they had separate drinking fountains in the early 70's.

Fine, maybe 'teenager' was a bit of an exaggeration. He was still around.

My bigger point is that people who were around during this stuff aren't that old. 50-60 years sounds like a long time to us who are in our 20's but it really wasn't long ago at all.

Butthurt? That's what you call people who are mad about everything from lynchings and cross burnings to inequality of opportunity and conditions? Butthurt? And nevermind the long-lasting repercussions institutional racism has had.

It's still too soon to call people butthurt about it when people who are today in their 50's and 60's experienced these things. Give it another few decades before talking about people being butthurt.

                        • So one can't be butthurt over something one directly experienced? That makes sense. Now, continue with your albieplexy.

Huh? So one can't be butthurt over something one directly experienced? No, that's what DaShi is implying. I said it makes sense to have issues over something one directly experienced. It's not being 'butthurt'.

                            • It started in 1954 and the "Brown v. Board of Education " lawsuit that was focused on Topeka, Kansas (a Union state). The Civil Rights Act of 1964 followed.

                              Additionally,
School desegregation became an issue in Chicago during the years following World War II, as the city's African American neighborhoods expanded and school officials adjusted boundary lines to assure that school districts remained as segregated as the housing market

So take your views about the racist South and stick up your ass. Poor DaShi.
