  • Recommend movies for my Netflix queue?

Currently on the queue, leaving out the stuff my wife put on:

Scotland, PA (Macbeth set in a fast-food restaurant)
SNL: The Best of Christopher Walken
Master of the Flying Guillotine (kung fu flick)
    Sukiyaki Western Django
    The Dark Crystal
    Black Dynamite
    The Expendables
    Hot Tub Time Machine
    The Godfather
The Island (well-reviewed Russian movie about a monk)
    The Karate Kid (original)
    Ip Man (kung fu flick)
Shaolin Soccer (from the director of Kung Fu Hustle)
Throne of Blood (Akira Kurosawa's version of Macbeth)
King Lear (Russian version from 1970)
Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (vaguely curious if they've made it less crappy than the book)
    Dude, Where's My Car?
    Toy Story 3
    Inception
    Salt

Machete, Of Gods and Men, Skyline and Tangled are on the end, in that "oh, whenever they come out on DVD" pile. So, that should give you a good idea of my tastes: action movies, foreign action movies, moronic comedies, recent blockbusters I didn't see in theaters, classic films I never saw and put on for cultural-literacy purposes, and a sprinkling of serious stuff. Since my wife puts BBC adaptations of Jane Austen and documentaries on the same queue, Netflix's "Movies you'll love" is horribly confused. Any recommendations?

I've seen Demolition Man plenty of times already. It's been ages since I saw Robocop, though--I remember the defective cop-drone that shot up the boardroom and the thugs with BFGs at the end, and that's it. May stick it on the queue.

                          "The Man Who Laughed" (1928)

An awesome silent movie. Also inspired the Joker character from batman.

The Human Centipede is great for a movie night with the wife.

I like that you included Harold and Kumar. In my opinion it was a better stoner film than Pineapple Express. Just remember that all the weed they smoke has been laced with crack to keep them addicted.
                              John Brown did nothing wrong.
