  • Humanity's MVP: Gays or Jews

They've both been whipping boys throughout history. Both have made countless valuable contributions to the arts, sciences and culture. But they're not equally valuable, and it's time to sort things out. Note that for the purposes of this poll, "Jew" refers to the race or ethnicity, not the religion. Also, this thread was started to resolve a dispute between Asher and HC. Now, a brief comparison.

GAYS gave us Alan Turing, who's the father of computer science or something
    JEWS gave us Albert Einstein

    GAYS gave us showtunes
JEWS gave us the scripts for many bad TV sitcoms

GAYS gave us Freddie Mercury of Queen
    JEWS gave us KISS

GAY JEWS gave us Allan Ginsberg, which goes to show you that the two should never, ever mix.

    Gays

We're man enough not to flee to a groupthink state.
"The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

I feel you have shortchanged gays as well.

Off the top of my head

      Oscar Wilde also.
      Frederick the Great
      Alexander the Great (bisexual )
      Andy Worhol
      Michaelangelo
      Leonardo Di Vinci
      Asher
      Tchaikovsky
      John Maynard Keynes
      J Edgar Hoover

      And most importantly
      JAMES DEAN

Alexander the Great doesn't count. He was Greek, they screwed everything. Andy Warhol is nothing to be proud of. The Ginsberg principle leads me to believe he might have been Jewish. The rest I grant you, but there's probably a Wiki category of "Jewish scientists" that would dwarf your list.

Most Greco-Roman figures don't count. It wasn't considered gay unless you were in a "passive" role. If you take that into account, it only leaves Emperor Elagabalus, who prostituted himself in gay brothels and publicly married a barbarian charioteer... as his husband. You could say the ancient world was the golden age of Bromosexuality.

None of those people can compete with James Dean.

The Ancient Greeks had an insanely profound effect on our world today. It is no coincidence they were so influential while they ****ed men.

Look at Greece now. Homophobic society! And what has it got them??

Paiktis! How far the mighty have fallen.
