It would under no circumstances replace the Kindle.

It would primarily be for whiteboarding and passive information consumption while away from the computer (twitter, facebook, light web surfing, etc).

The current iPad is too heavy, the screen is too low a resolution, and there's not enough RAM to do anything substantive with it (like a more capable Office suite or better games).

And no, I can't use my phone camera as I only have a 3GS. There's no video conferencing.
