It's been a long time since I've had the time to visit Apolyton ... and coming back now, however brief or long it might be, is like a trip down memory lane.

This probably sounds silly, but it is so gratifying to see a lot of the same site members posting now who were posting then. Some thing never (or rarely) change, and, in this case, that's a good thing.

All is well as can be, considering the state of the economy (i.e., I'm employed and relatively healthy). Hope the same is true for you, too, Arrian.

RL, other online pursuits and changing tastes have all combined to pretty much limit the time I spend on 'Poly and other old stomping grounds from my first few years on the Internet. 'Poly still remains the forum I've belonged to the longest, however (10 years and counting!).

Perusing some of the other threads in the OT brought more than a few smiles and winces. Yep, some things never change.

Civ IV is the latest one I've played ... haven't done V yet, although I've scoped out the reviews (most of which seem quite positive). If only there were more time in the day! (And I had a computer that could run Civ V!)

Too bad about Keith Olbermann, but that's what happens when company policy is violated. I'm sure it'll blow over in time, as Olbermann is one of MSNBC's most-recognizable faces, along with his Countdown show.

Lots of folks seem to fall into the "long gone" category nowadays, it seems. *sigh* Oh, well. I guess it's just part of the natural ebb and flow of life — folks come and go and, sometimes, come again.

Me, well, I'll probably mostly stick to lurking. I'm too old nowadays for a lot of the heated debates. **LOL**
