Paternity tests have only helped women, the law used to be that a bastard child was the child of no man. The other side of common law regarding who the father was in married households wasn't similarly changed in the US of course. Thanks to paternity tests they can find out who the father is and make him pay up. Of course courts today don't necessarily have to do that.

Men's moral codes are more or less fixed, irrespective of context (not their actions, mind you, just the ideas - neither is, all things considered, 'superior' in a moral sense). This constancy allows an abstraction of morality, and its attendant benefits, such as scalable networks of trust or command, or the maintenance of a shared culture over a very large number of participants. Women's moral sense is contextual - the definition of right and wrong itself changes as the woman's situation changes. The feminists' cry of 'You don't understand!' (which is what the movement is, boiled down to essentials) comes from the fact that any system of morality or obligation which does not change to suit the current situation so as to benefit the woman the most is either incomprehensible (at best) or experienced as oppressive (at worst) by women. This is neither good nor bad - it just is. Attempting to somehow 'blame' women for having contextual (and hence, from a male point of view, untrustworthy) moral systems is like blaming a petrol car for the fact that it does not run on jet fuel. You cannot blame the machine for working perfectly within specification. (You can, however, blame the idiots who thought it was a good idea to try to power a car with jet fuel in the first place.)

I never said there was. "They" where mean as women in general not some shadowy conspiracy.


I was trying to emphasise that its perfectly "natural" to care more about female than male suffering, due to males being more expendable than females, this is exacerbated by our culture which combines old privileges without old obligations.

Sure women voting is one of the causes, however I would point out that while other economic and social factors where in place it took many years or even decades for society to be noticeably different because of this (I'm talking especially about the early adopter states and countries, after WW1 the West was already dying and moving rapidly away from any form of traditionalism).

You are right. Lets ban women's right to use contraceptives to a single form, I mean its not like we are stepping in and limiting their reproductive control right?

For starters one can be on the pill and not tell the other partner. This is something women can do but men can't currently. Also condoms are less pleasurable and relationships that raw dog it are more stable.
