  • Job Posting Thread

This thread is intended to let people know who's looking for work and who's looking for employees. Then people can claim coming here is work related.

So Please, if you're looking for work, or just another opportunity, feel free to post what you're looking for and where. If you're looking for people do the same.

Now some may think this could never amount to anything but I've already hired someone I met here and my brother did also. So you never know.

Right now I'm looking for an entry level programmer in the Chicago area.

    That's pretty vague, isn't it?

      I'm hiring!

If you are good at outreach and willing to work for virtually nothing, let me know.

I'm looking for a job as a world-renowned novelist and philosopher. Anyone have an opening for that?

No, but apparently there's an opening for famous mathematician. Think you could give it a shot?

Sure! I took AP Calc 8 years ago and got a 2 on the test. I'll be one of those geniuses who was too good for school.

I'm looking for someone to train. I'm more interested in someone with a programming mentality than specific language skills. Those can be taught quite easily. Heck, I don't care if they're not a professional programmer. All it takes is half a brain and some enthusiasm. Since we're a market research house, I'd like a person that's detail oriented that could dig through data.

And for those that are treating this as a joke, please get the hell out and play in another sandbox. With the economy as bad as it is and unemployment as high as it is, people are desperate and would like any opportunity. You should respect those that want to offer them. (yes, I know how futile this request is with all the asshats here.)

Ah, you must be a number theory kind of guy!

On topic: I have a crappy data entry job, but I'd be interested in any tech writing or editing job anyone was looking to fill.

What's this about? I can't put Ming on my ignore list, so I put Raj on instead figuring since they were twins it would be the same thing.

Who is this Raj dude? I assume that since Ming is back to being a mod on the CIV V forums is the reason you can't put him on your ignore list. Me, I'm not falling for that one again.

Interestingly Rah, I'd probably fit your bill since I have a degree in marketing, I'm good at problem solving, I have IT skills, and I have entry level programming skills. Or at least I'll have entry level soon. I'll also have a B.S. in IT Security by either late November/early December along with industry certifications to go with it.

I for the life of me can't understand why anyone would consider hiring someone frequenting these boards.

That being said, thankfully my employer is blissfully unaware.
