            It's called "paternity leave" in the UK, as opposed to "maternity leave" the "breastfeeding leave" label makes the story sound more ridiculous than it is.

            In the UK a mother can have a years "maternity leave" some of which is paid. But nowadays she can split that leave with the father, so you could take 6 months each, or 9 months and 3 months or whatever. It's quite rare, but we've got that right if we choose to take it. It's partly to allow people to share childcare however they want, but also to level out the pay hit women take from having children, or the threat they might have them.
