As a card carrying Lib Dem, clearly I should be pretty cautious about getting in bed with the Tories - but this Coalition seems to be a different beast altogether...
Take the latest focus on benefits:
Higher tax earners are to be stripped child benefit payments
Unemployed families are to have their benefits capped to a maximum of £500/week for everything - including ending the open ended house allowance benefits loophole...
Not to mention a whole raft of Lib Dem policies getting in either at the forefront of policy, or via the back door (e.g. Trident looking increasingly unlikely to be replaced like-for-like).
It's great, so far IMHO, it's like most of the best of the policies of both parties are being chosen, with the worst either being kicked into touch, or being seriously watered down...
