One would have thought, that after WWII, the Allies would have realised, what their, what one can only call a dick move, wrought upon the world after The Great War, they would have considered those debts settled. Plus, there was the Marshall Plan. Give money and stuff to Germany, so they can pay GW reparations for France and GB? Eh?

How so? Seriously. The war ended up causing some drastic changes to the European political landscape and the democratization or Sovietization of all the nations involved but that that was going to happen wasn't evident at the time.
