WTF. You also think we desperately need to have more farmers and more people working in the factories so we can make more tanks, planes, and artillery? WTF?"Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

I think a lack of internships screwed me immensely. I couldn't afford to take an unpaid or even a low paid internship because I needed steady income so I worked two food service manager jobs (which, honestly, isn't even terrible for a college student; students usually are the servers/waiters/burger flippers, at least I shot into managerial jobs). What that means is I never got my foot into the door in the industry or could show that a financial/accounting/insurance/etc. firm had been willing to take me up. I think that may have been a big deal but I can't believe it would still be haunting me years later.“As a lifelong member of the Columbia Business School community, I adhere to the principles of truth, integrity, and respect. I've applied. I've been shot down for teller positions at PNC, Wachovia, Sovereign/Santander, Citizens, etc. (again, not even an interview and I've applied repeatedly) and I really really really don't want to be a cold-caller and I don't think that sales/advising would be the right career path for me."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

Then look at smaller firms. It's a tough job market, especially in finance. Consider branching out to something related to it that you can build upon.
I haven't seen your updated resume, so I can't tell how well you're selling yourself. But if what you showed us earlier was the output of resume writing courses, then you were scammed.“As a lifelong member of the Columbia Business School community, I adhere to the principles of truth, integrity, and respect. I dislike Christianity and never want it imposed in any form but I have always believed that Americans in general need an awakening and stop being this society of drugged-up, obese, debt-producing, fad-obsessed, having babies as teenagers, reality show-watching, etc. creatures. I know it's cliche but that doesn't mean that it's not true.

I think the last name is actually spelled Gekko. He's a character from the movie "Wall Street," which I never saw, but apparently he's a financial type who espouses this greed-is-good ideology to cover up and excuse his own unethical behavior somehow. There's a sequel in theaters now.

Yeah I know but so the hell what? People enjoy crack. That doesn't mean I think they should smoke it.

But really more money going to the military would probably be best served if it went to the VA and the Wounded Warrior Program. Those programs are relatively underfunded."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi
