          He may well do, but Copernicus postulated the heliocentric cosmology first.
          Technically, a Greek dude thought of it first. But the idea wasn't ready for prime time. Nobody took him seriously at the time. People even thought it was an absurd idea. They even had "refutations" of it (the tower argument).
