Ozzy, but at the same time, you have to respect the fact that youth rights shouldn't be extended if the youth won't have some common respect and deference for elders. I'm not saying older people are any smarter or deserve recognition just because they're older but there should be some respect.

You sort of half-smile at some of them, before you realize, "Wait, that's not actually funny. It's just retarded." Sort of like Tim and Eric from Adult Swim made a comic strip or something. Or a fart joke in print, except fart jokes can be dumb enough to be funny.

Dude, those two absolutely suck. I wouldn't admit any association with them, however tentative, if I were you.

On further reflection (yes, I actually bothered to reflect about this), the problem with this comic is that its premise is simply not as funny or clever as its makers think it is. Not even close, in fact. Hipsters and Hitler have nothing in common except a vague similarity in the spelling of their names. All they've got is that, a bunch of lame hipster stereotypes that got played out five years ago, and "ooh, we're sort-of-almost trivializing the Holocaust by making jokes about history's greatest monster posited as an irrelevant pretentious douchebag." They're doing something mildly contrary to norms--but ultimately tame and silly--and acting as though it's a big deal. In other words, they're acting very much like hipsters themselves. Which is sort of compound irony: the irony of acting like what they attempt to mock, apparently by accident, and then the irony of doing something genuinely ironic while making fun of a group that consistently misuses the term.

There. I put way too much thought into it, about ten times as much as it deserves, and ruined the strip for you poor tasteless bastards who thought it was funny.

I only read this thread because I saw Elok posted in it, and I have to agree with him. He's put way too much thought into it.
