Yes, but China is developing. It's like investing in Microsoft in the 80s compared to investing in Microsoft. . .now.

There is no reason to expect China's rate of growth to stay as high as it is. The article correctly mentions Japan as once being in China's place. But it went through a decade of stagnation after its boom and now is in no position to overtake the USA.If there is no sound in space, how come you can hear the lasers?

Yes, people have been predicting China's fall for the last 20 years yet it is still going strong. China actually benefited from the GFC allowing it to advance ahead of schedule. In fact, on nearly every metric China has advanced ahead of schedule, crisis or not. And yes, its rate of growth will not remain this high forever. But this slow down is what the government wants.
Then there's the fact that in many aspect China has surpassed the US. Shanghai is already a far cleaner and more modern city than New York. China is set to become the leader in sustainable technology, while the US languishes trying to salvage obsolete markets. China's airports are more advanced, its rail system faster and more efficient. Healthy food is plentiful and cheap.
The US is currently stagnating in partisan politics and financial disaster (even GS has been digging its tentacles deeper into China).“As a lifelong member of the Columbia Business School community, I adhere to the principles of truth, integrity, and respect. I was hoping this thread would be about the record number of people on the government dole and Obama pushing to increase the number.I make no bones about my moral support for [terrorist] organizations. - chegitz guevara

EDIT: Actually huh. CIA world factbook is saying it's 3rd after Japan. So whatever. But it's still 1/4 USA.

The homosexual underworld called -they want their thread back. Social engineering is always toxic. In fact, Rand Paul's campaign chest was gobbled up by the teacher's union to be used on liberal candidates. 9-11 changed everything. So he's increased our dependence on the government which means he's done more to help the economy than the private sector even though all his legislation is forcing them to freeze hiring.
Glad to hear you have such a good handle on the situation. If there is no sound in space, how come you can hear the lasers?
