        Al B -- Top three reasons to stay away fromthis situation:
        1. Nothing happened to you.
        2. You're not dating the girl it happened to.
        3. The person you believe did the crime is a psycho. (Plus, you have no proof.)

        Your sense of outrage at the unfairness of it all is charming, but vigilantism/street justice is just another way to get yourself hurt. Badly.
        Have the woman call the cops, let them do their thing, and be done with it. You are not, technically, involved. Keep it that way.
