Yeah, they also used to have a weapons sharing agreement with us. Up until at least the mid '80s CF combat aircraft were wired for (American)nuclear weapons so a US tactical nuke could be hooked on a Canadian airplane to bomb the Rompin' Stompin' Russian Red Army in Germany. Similiar agreements are still held with the Germans, Dutch, and Belgians IIRC.

It's not my idea. It's something I've heard more than once from people in positions to know something about the subject, which I'm fairly certain you are not.
Then they are greatly overstating their knowledge base(or you are). Saying that Canada has the know-how to become a "nuclear power in 14 days" might not be THE most stupid thing to say in regards to defense policy, but it's pretty close. Canada doesn't have the fabrication plants for actually building the nukes or have the delivery systems(or the means to fabricate the delivery systems).

But you keep on pretending that hand-assembling one bomb over the span of 2 weeks but not having the means to delivery it anyway qualifies Canada as a "nuclear power".
Today, you are the waves of the Pacific, pushing ever eastward. You are the sequoias rising from the Sierra Nevada, defiant and enduring.

    • I honestly don't think Canada has bomb grade nuclear material and it would take much more then two weeks build the facilities to enrich regular nuclear material much less actually go through the enriching process. Sure, Canada has the know how (hell, Brazil and South Africa have done it so Canada can) but it would take much longer then two weeks.
