  • P != NP

    The problem: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P_versus_NP_problem

    The claimed proof (not peer reviewed yet): http://www.scribd.com/doc/35539144/pnp12pt

    Not a complete surprise, but this is largely considered one of the biggest unsolved problems in computer science. If P=NP, there'd be some enormous problems (largely revolving around cryptography).

          I'm not a web designer guy. I know nothing about Flash, Flex, Air, etc.

              Well, that's a relief if correct.

              Figures the proof would take 100 pages (and a ****ing 2 page abstract).

                It's probably wrong. The real proof will only take one page and the abstract will read, "Hell yeah! **** you ****ers!"

                  I think I saw a thread a couple of days ago on Mathoverflow where most of the people who know enough about this area and had had a look at this agreed the approach was unlikely to be correct.
