  • Who painted this painting...

    As shown in this video,

    Thank you

Why don't you send the guy a message and ask him. He says he finds it difficult to respond to comments and if you have questions message him directly.

Seeing as it's about Vivaldi, I'll guess it's an italian painter- probably 17th century given the clothing styles. My prime suspect was Tintoretto (who was earlier than that), but the style looks too polished and the clothing a bit out for him- even though the mass of bodies is very much his style.

It's not Canaletto., and nowhere near gaudy enough for Tiepolo.

Looks like a section of a much larger piece. See the woman (Mary?) praying with the Holy Ghost represented by a dove above her head? That and their poses (along with the apparent cherub flying in the corner) makes me wonder if it's one of the many Christ being taken down from the Cross paintings.

If so, those religious themes would point more to a Catholic painter than a Dutch one as well.

Presuming the video maker was that diligent is probably not the best idea.

However, if one is to go that route, since Vivaldi was Venetian, one might want to start with Venetian painters.

Why would Catholic and Dutch be mutually exclusive? Or religious paintings and Protestant, for that matter?

From the wikipedia article on Dutch Golden Age painting:
A distinctive feature of the period, compared to earlier European painting, was the small amount of religious painting. Dutch Calvinism forbade religious painting in churches, and though biblical subjects were acceptable in private homes, relatively few were produced. The other traditional classes of history and portrait painting were present, but the period is more notable for a huge variety of other genres, sub-divided into numerous specialized categories, such as scenes of peasant life, landscapes, townscapes, landscapes with animals, maritime paintings, flower paintings and still lifes of various types. The development of many of these types of painting was decisively influenced by 17th-century Dutch artists.
              Boris.

Seriously Boris. Now take one of your gay cards and hand it to Alpert.

                        It's probably an early photograph.

Ok, this has gone on too long. I'll come clean - that's my painting. Sorry for not admitting this earlier.
