I'm sure you got the gist of a 700+ post thread by reading the "tail-end"...

Why don't you actually read the highly detailed economic report I linked to so you can actually make intelligent conversation or is that to much effort for you?

I read the report yesterday when Matt Yglesias linked to it and then read some analysis that pointed out that the study doesn't seem to prove that the ARRA had a multiplier greater than 1. You don't understand why that's important, but that's ok...
I skimmed the first 3 pages and saw your posts, including the almost wordless OP. You didn't say much.

Actually, reading the stimulus thread again, I see that Oerdin already tried to use the work of Mark Zandi and Moody's to "prove" that the stimulus worked, only to be raked over the coals by more intelligent posters. Did you think enough time had passed that you could try the same stupid tactic again?

Drake is intelligent enough, but he's lost some credibility as of late.

Here's the original stimulus debate thread (I think). It should help Alby understand the arguments that were implicit in the later "Stimulus is a failure" thread. You can also watch me chase Vel from the site...

How? I've barely had time to post over the last month.

With OP and the first 2 replies, this is one of the worst threads I've seen in a long while.

"Stupid" is exactly the right word.

Sliders and alternate universe discussions aside, Zandi indicates ARRA multiplier less than 1. Good show

[UPDATE: Nada EcMajor pointed out a rather large mistake in this analysis: I had used compounded quarterly growth rates to back out the quarterly data, when I should have been dividing the annual d…

So we gave up ~$50 billion in private spending in exchange for ~$390 billion in public spending? That sounds like a good deal. We got tax cuts, healthcare and education spending, food stamps, infrastructure and more for peanuts.

I post a detailed study by leading economists (such as the former #2 at the Federal Reserve) and you contradict it using a blog post? Seriously? Go home.

That is the only response Oerdin can offer since he still doesn't know what the multiplier is...

Given O's proven inability to peruse and understand these kinds of documents in the past, one would have thought him appreciative of a blog doing the heavy lifting/mental gymnastics he seems unsuited for.
