I have a good argument. In 1921 there was a fair democratic vote and the people of Northern Ireland voted for union even as the IRA held an intensive terrorism campaign. The people get to decide and they voted ergo Northern Ireland is British. That said they should have hanged or deported all the Irish Nationalists just to show they could. the end result would have been 3-4 generations later they would be like DanS and try to justify terrorism but not actually accomplish anything.

Can we just hang DanS (he's already deported) as a symbolic gesture in support of Oerdin's proposals?

And I'm just wondering how many innocent people the money you've donated to the IRA has killed...

Dublin city was called The Pale because it had been part of the British Empire from the 16th century on so the reality is it was an extremely loyalist city even post independence as huge numbers of both Catholic and Protestant Irish choose to join the British Army as well as the British foreign service as a career choice.
I'm reminded of my Scottish grand uncle (my father's uncle) who told me load of Irish signed up for the British Army in WW2. And it was so obvious who they were for that even the Nazi's bombed Dublin on several occasions.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

The Irish complaint against England is far more valid than any of the complaints levied by foreign terrorist groups against the U.S. If we can get bombed just for basing troops in Saudi Arabia at the government's behest, ya'll can certainly be bombed for systematically occupying and oppressing various parts of your neighboring island for centuries...KH FOR OWNER!

Not at all. In 1920 55% of the Irish population was against partition and separation. There were more Irish veterans of the British military then there were British veterans. Half of the RN was filled with Irish sailors and the biggest cities in Ireland where all royal strongholds. It was only through terrorism that IRA made people tired of war and wanting to end the fighting that the IRA kept creating.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

The Northern Ireland issue should be solved democratically like this. Hold a referendum with the following two choices-
1- Northern Ireland should be fully part of the United Kingdom.
2- Northern Ireland should remain under the control of the United Kingdom, but not be fully part of it.
There you go- a democratic solution acceptable to the Western world. The genesis of the "evil Finn" concept- Evil, evil Finland
