Tonight on BBC1 we had the first episode of the Beeb's modern day Holmes mysteries, and despite the absence of proper drug-taking, I thought it was great.

I'm sure that it will be available to loads of other countries in no time, so please resurrect this thread when it is and give your opinions.

That's because most of it was filmed in Cardiff...
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

Fair dos. It was an entertaining hour and a half of telly, which is more than I can say of most things I've watched this year. Well done to the streets of Cardiff.

Holmes in Cardiff is like drinking beer out of a wine glass.

I can't believe I missed it though. Ms Haus is responsible for our TV scheduling, and she's usually very good at it. I shall have to have words.

Well I missed the first half-hour so had to wait another hour before I could watch the whole lot on iPlayer. But it was definitely worth it. I love Holmes, and even though this was a bit strange to see a modern-day version, it did work very nicely.

          Also, boo to Fraulein Haus!

Still tastes like beer, but without the pompous snobbery...

The iPlayer sucks because I could never get it to work with proxy servers.

I was wondering, if the umbrella guy was Mycroft or Moriarty.
I've allways wanted to play "Russ Meyer's Civilization"

Watson never met Moriarty in the original, and I would guess they my keep true to that. They kept true to other parts of the story (e.g. Watson's service in Afghanistan, crack shot with a pistol etc)

I can't really find fault with it, tbh. So yeah,
