My Dentist Is A White Supremacist
So I went in for my biannual checkup today and while chit chatting with my dentist mentioned my plans to move to a big city one day. He began a long diatribe about how naturally violent the black man is and how his friend, a paramedic, was shot in Harlem while helping some little old lady.
Naturally I pointed out he might be missing out on the larger picture by focusing on an isolated incident and he began justifying racial profiling by pointing out that 70% of the prison population is African American despite Af. Ams only making up ~13% of the total population.
As I began to protest he asked me, "Why do you think we have the NBA? Don't you think blacks make better basketball players than whites? How do you explain the demographics of those teams?"
At this point he was scraping deep in my mouth and I wasn't able to answer, so he continued.
At this point he delved into the standard rhetoric that the black man must be naturally lazy because this is America and we all have equal opportunity. I took his hand out of my mouth to point out how auditing studies how consistently found that minorities have a much harder time finding jobs as compared to equally qualified white counterparts (~1/5 less callbacks as I recall). He again called this justified racial profiling etc. and continued ranting about blacks on Welfare taking all our government's resources etc.
This comes as a huge shock. We've been seeing this guy since I was a kid, and he even knows some of my family on a personal level. He's been a huge republican since day 1 which never bothered me, even though he would basically mutter on about conservative talking points through each session, but after this I don't think I'll be going back.
