    I'm not sure I agree with that but I remain open-minded on the subject.

        It's not a stimulus, it's pork, and it's antibusiness. It will probably make the economy worse and at best make it worse in the long run.

            Unemployment is still at 10%. Emergency extensions of benefits are in effect.

              Who cares. The only thing Obama needs is for the economy to be in recovery mode during the election. Nobody but conservatives will risk the recovering economy to your candidates, and their loony ideas.

                  The stimulus plan is just starting to kick in. There weren't as many 'shovel ready' projects as desired. The rest of the projects are now kicking in. That's the bulk of the plan.

                    If the Republicans run one of the sorry cast of characters who appear to currently be in the mix, Obama is a shoo-in for his 2nd term. I voted for McCain, but I'd easily vote Obama over Palin, Huckabee, Romney, et all. I just don't see a creditable Republican who I'd vote for winning the primary (I'd like to see someone like Mitch Daniels make it, but I can't see that happening).

                        I have serious doubts that he'd consider running. That said, I know nothing about his political views, but he's probably fairly pragmatic about issues.

                                If Newt ends up being the best thing the REPUGS can find, then we've sunk lower then the DEMONRATS and we're in BIG trouble.
