Is Germany more important than China or Japan? They have a big economy, but I'm skeptical. Italy doesn't seem to be terribly influential or important either, though I suppose the list drops off fairly significantly after #8, so those countries don't matter all that much. I'd move Israel up several places.

Diplomacy and relationships are an integral part of power.

Canada's close alliances with the UK and and the US makes it more important.

Independent of those relationships, Canada is still a far greater power than Poland in every discernible way. You guys are just crazy.

Edit: Not to mention **** like (potentially) controlling the Arctic Passage, which is increasingly a big deal. Do you guys know anything?

We prefer to be the puppeteers from afar. There's a reason why schoolteachers this way teach American pronunciations for words. Helps us infiltrate the highest level of governments.

1) Why is Poland ahead of Canada

- Canada is hardly a regional player. It has only USA as its neighbour. If it was located, let say, in central Asia, or if USA was divided into many states, Canada would be shifted several places up.
- Canada is in danger of falling apart (Quebec, New Founland, etc)
- Canada has little impact on world culture, perhaps apart from some recent pop stars.

Canada has great possibilities ahead of it. But it hasn't fulfilled them yet.

Anyway, Asher, this is my personal opinion. Make your own list and put Canada higher, or make 1 post. You are taking it all too hard.

2) Why is Israel "low"
- without USA financial help, it'd go down, down
- its political influence comes mostly out of Holocaust, influential diaspora in USA and getting on nerves of Arab / islamic states. Otherwise, it is just one of many modern, but small states with insignificant population.
Peace in Palestine will be start of the end of significance of Israel in world arena.

3) Why is Germany high?
Because it's the most important of european states, and one of few which has good export values. It has immense impact on world culture, etc. Perhaps I should've put China higher, but it'd be just an indication that quantity values more than quality.
