Yeah, exactly. Doesn't really matter if other players are individually better players, Podolski and Klose are such a great partnership. Their international goal records speak for themselves. They also perfectly suit the system.

I think it's great that the Germans have picked a team, not the 11 best individual talents, and it's showing on the pitch. Podolski, aged 25 has 40 goals in 78 internationals. I'd pick him every time. And Klose's goal record at world cup finals is as good as anyone in football history.

Plus the team has been playing incredibly well, I can't see how it's controversial, it's clearly working.

I at the self-contradiction of saying "pick a team" not "individuals" and then saying you'd pick a particular individual every time based on a goal scoring record.

You're not really into European football, are you?

Considering the 100% chances that Klose and Podolski had this WC, I can't imagine any average BL or EPL forward who had scored less. This does not exclude Heskey.

The loss against Serbia is surely caused by them and Loew's weird subs.

Germany's success in this WC is surely not based on Klose or Podolski.

Regarding the new style, Boateng, who took out overrated slow Prima Donna Ballack, is probably the most important German player.

At least he can go one-on-one. Instead of Kuranyi, Loew preferred this potential Klose sub for SA:

Care to explain why you make that assumption?

it's nice to see that england fans aren't the only ones who are never satisfied.

Because then, you'd know that Klose is only reserve player most of the time and performs well mostly in the national selection. He's picked because he works in Löw's system, his goal record is the result of that decision and not the cause. As "individual talent", Klose is far from outstanding. If the system is designed to provide him with what he needs, he's effective, that's it. Many coaches tend to pick the 11 best individuals but sometimes fail to make them a team, so some top attackers hardly score for their national squad.

                    Today, Klose wasn't effective though.

Löw's system: Let half-polish losers score in friendly games against San Marino and Liechtenstein.

The difference being, of course, that for England fans a semi-final appearance would in itself be a glorious victory.

Great. That aside, he was talking Podolski.

(In any event my point was not specific to any given player)
