  • Socialists should love investment banks

...and should probably work at one.

    Construct the argument.

You can't even be bothered to write your own trolls now? I approve of the laziness.

I have a very specific one in mind, but I want to see if any others will get it....

Hmmm, without investment banks there is no way for The People to invest efficiently into new business, thus economic growth is slowed? I take it that IBs are the tool that is needed to support new business growth, and that is what Communism needs to be viable, even if the profits are taken and used for social policy funding?

The first part is on the right track, but not quite on point...

Second hint: conservatives should never work at an IB.

Meh, I know nothing of economics, but the guess from the second hint would be that reinvestment (ie not cutting spending unless necessary) of the profits would lead to both increasing amounts of money for Social policies, and increasing profits for the investors so that both the rich and the poor benefit benefit from the investment.

                Probably way off though.

Conservatives hate change and risk, ergo socialists must always move forward. Progressing, onwards, onwards, risk-taking, investing, investment banking. Huzzah!

If you work at an IB you think the strong EMH is false (and in particular, that you are more competent at directing capital than the market).

Much closer, though I had a slightly broader philosophical point.
